Star Wars Zero Company All Operators

This is the pre-release character center for Star Wars Zero Company. EA's Operators Hub currently presents seven named story Operators: Hawks, Trick, Tel-Rea Vokoss, Cly Kullervo, Luco Bronc, Jae Mordant, and Kabb Uppercut. They are not the final limit of a company: players can also create and recruit Custom Operators at The Den.

This distinction matters. M-3VO, Runa Blask, Bennic Halloren, and Neesh Renark belong to the Den's support team in EA's Allies material. They are important to the campaign, but this page does not list them as pre-release confirmed field Operators.

How many Operators are in Zero Company?

There are seven officially listed Authored Operators in the current Operators Hub, plus Custom Operators created or recruited by the player. EA's official Q&A says a company starts with a roster capacity of seven and can grow to 20 through upgrades, story progression, and additional Authored Operators.

The standard combat squad holds up to four Operators, though EA notes that certain missions can give players control of additional characters. A story roster is therefore larger than the four positions you deploy at once.

All confirmed Operators list

| Operator | Identity | Role in the company | | --- | --- | --- | | Hawks | Customizable former Republic officer | Player character and Zero Company leader | | Trick | Clone Trooper | Long-serving frontline member | | Tel-Rea Vokoss | Tognath Jedi Padawan | Force-using story Operator | | Cly Kullervo | Mandalorian warrior | Mobile Mandalorian story Operator | | Luco Bronc | Umbaran sharpshooter | Long-range story Operator | | Jae Mordant | Former Ore-Baroness | Story ally with a personal stake in the campaign | | Kabb Uppercut | Felshi former prizefighter | Close-range specialist with a cybernetic arm |

Hawks

Hawks is the customizable player character and leader of Zero Company. EA describes Hawks as a former officer in the Grand Army of the Republic who now leads an unconventional team of Operators for hire. Players can customize Hawks' appearance and combat Specialization, then build the remaining squad around the mission's needs.

Hawks is required in every story mission. If Hawks dies in combat, EA says the mission automatically fails and must be restarted. That makes Hawks a team-building constraint: if you build Hawks for forward pressure, bring recovery and safe ranged support; if you build Hawks for control, use the other slots to supply a frontline and decisive damage.

Trick

Trick, formerly CT-3301, is the Clone Trooper who has worked with Hawks since their Republic service. EA presents him as a consummate soldier and a dependable early member of Zero Company.

For squad planning, Trick is a natural candidate for a forward or defensive job because he gives a story-focused team a durable center. Confirm exact Specialization, Talent, and ability values in the release build before committing scarce upgrades.

Tel-Rea Vokoss

Tel-Rea is a Tognath Jedi Padawan seeking to honor her late master. She is Zero Company's publicly identified Jedi Operator. EA's gameplay overview uses Tel-Rea's Force Push as an example of moving enemies out of cover and into a squadmate's Overwatch.

Use Tel-Rea as a control-minded slot when enemy placement matters. Her Jedi Padawan identity is unique among the confirmed story cast, but it should complement a squad's frontline, recovery, and damage roles rather than replace all of them.

Cly Kullervo

Cly Kullervo is a Mandalorian warrior from the ancient Clan Verminoth. She joins Zero Company to pursue her own revenge. EA identifies her as one of the key members of the company and the only confirmed Mandalorian in the core story roster.

Plan Cly as a mobility-oriented story choice, then fill the other slots with the jobs she does not cover on a given mission. Published preview details about her exact kit are useful for ideas but are not treated here as final release values.

Luco Bronc

Luco Bronc is an Umbaran sharpshooter who defended Umbara during the Republic invasion. He is willing to work with Zero Company despite that history, creating a potentially tense perspective alongside Republic veterans.

Luco is the obvious story candidate when a team needs long-range target priority. Pair a precision role with information, control, or a secure frontline so the squad can create and hold a clean firing lane.

Jae Mordant

Jae Mordant is the former Ore-Baroness of Luunata. After the Infinite Coil took her planet, she became instrumental in bringing the Republic and Zero Company together against the threat.

Jae's story position makes her a flexible narrative addition when a mission benefits from mixing the original company members with someone directly connected to the central conflict. Choose her combat job from the team's current gap rather than assuming a story character must fill one fixed role.

Kabb Uppercut

Kabbney “Kabb” Uppercut is a Felshi veteran crook and former prizefighter with a cybernetic arm. EA's gameplay overview calls out Kabb's Uppercut as another way to knock an enemy from cover into a squadmate's Overwatch.

Kabb is a strong choice for close-range control and displacement planning. Like Assault, he is most useful when the rest of the squad is ready to exploit the position he creates instead of leaving him isolated after the move.

Authored vs Custom Operators

Authored Operators are named characters who join Zero Company as the story unfolds. Custom Operators are recruited directly by the player and can be customized in appearance, clothing, voice, and name. At the Recruitment Facility, Custom Operators arrive with a name, Talent, Primary Specialization, weapon type, and backstory that can be further adjusted at The Den.

EA confirms that story and custom characters can be mixed. Do not treat the seven named Operators as the only available combat choices; use Custom Operators to cover a missing squad job, add roster depth after Injuries, or experiment with a different Specialization without disrupting a favorite story pair.

Operator classes and Specializations

Most Operators use one of eight standard Specializations: Assault, Gunslinger, Heavy, Medic, Scoundrel, Scout, Sharpshooter, and Soldier. Each has an Ultimate, a Standard Ability, and a Passive. The Personnel Facility lets players change most Operators' Specializations to fit their preferred playstyle.

The confirmed story cast also includes distinctive identities such as Jedi Padawan and Mandalorian warrior. Treat exact exclusive kits, upgrade ranks, and dual-Specialization details from preview coverage as subject to change unless EA confirms them in the release version.

Unique Talents and abilities

An Operator's Specialization is only one part of their combat identity. EA's Personnel overview says Focus Points can upgrade Talents, Abilities, and Passives. The official gameplay overview specifically shows Tel-Rea's Force Push and Kabb's Uppercut as displacement tools that can set up Overwatch.

The durable team rule is to build around an interaction, not a number: use a control action to open a lane, let a damage Operator act from safety, then reserve recovery or Overwatch for the enemy phase. Exact preview-only damage, Action Point, and Advantage values should be rechecked after launch.

How to recruit Operators

New Custom Operators can be hired from the Recruitment Facility for Credits. EA says a selection appears each Cycle, can be refreshed, and can also be created by the player for recruitment. Roster capacity is limited, so recruit when a team needs a real answer—another safe frontline, a replacement for an injured role, or a Specialist for a mission type—not just because a slot is available.

Operator Bonds and synergies

Operators develop Bonds through activities including Operations, Tactical Missions, and Calling for Backup. As a Bond rises, both members can Cross Train for a permanent combat-stat bonus. At maximum Bond, they can unlock a special Cross Training benefit through a Passive Ability.

Keep a stable core long enough to learn its order of operations. A control and precision pair, a frontline and Medic pair, or a Scout supporting a damage Operator gains more from repeated deployments than from rotating the entire roster every mission.

Operator permadeath

When an Operator loses all Health, they become Downed, suffer an Injury, and cannot act until Rallied. EA states that three Injuries cause permanent death on Standard difficulty. Hawks is the special case: Hawks' death is an automatic mission failure and restart.

The right response to a Downed Operator is not always more damage. First protect the rally space, reduce the enemy's chance to punish the rescue, then restore the team's normal turn plan. Use the Medbay at The Den to manage the roster after a costly mission.

Best Operators for each squad role

| Squad role | Good story-led direction | What the team still needs | | --- | --- | --- | | Frontline | Trick, Cly, or Hawks with Heavy/Soldier | Medic support and a path back to cover | | Control | Tel-Rea or Kabb | A damage Operator ready to exploit displacement | | Precision damage | Luco or a Custom Sharpshooter | A safe line of sight and setup support | | Flexible story slot | Jae or Hawks | The specific role missing from the mission plan | | Sustain and information | Custom Medic or Scout | A frontline and a finisher to protect |

No named Operator is a universal answer. Choose the four-person squad around the objective, current Injuries, map sightlines, and what Hawks must contribute in the story mission.

Operators FAQ

Are M-3VO and the Den staff playable Operators?

Not in the pre-release Operators list. EA places M-3VO, Runa Blask, Bennic Halloren, and Neesh Renark with the Allies/support team, so this guide does not count them among the seven confirmed field Operators.

Can I use Custom Operators with story characters?

Yes. EA explicitly supports a mix of Authored and Custom Operators in Zero Company.

Can story Operators die permanently?

Non-Hawks Operators can suffer Injuries and Standard difficulty makes three Injuries permanent death. Hawks instead triggers an immediate mission failure if killed.

Will each Operator get a separate Build page?

That is planned for after release, when final Talents, Specializations, difficulty behavior, and equipment combinations can be tested rather than inferred from previews.
